The RapidFix Bunion Correction™ technique is an innovative procedure that employs re-designed historically proven surgical techniques, combined with the most technologically advanced hardware allowing for every patient’s desired trifecta: minimal incisions, minimal hardware and minimal recovery time.

Traditional techniques have used large open incisions with bulky plates, screws, and/or pins. Many surgical techniques will stake claim to being “minimal”, yet still incorporate large metal hardware placed across large surfaces of bone. The only “minimal” claim for these techniques are the smaller than traditional incisions.

Traditional Techniques

RapidFix uses minimal incisions with minimal, but advanced hardware, consisting of a nitinol staple to hold the bone cut. This unique metal alloy staple has a “memory” to it, which helps compress the bone cut. Upon insertion into the foot, the increased temperature of the human body changes the staple structure allowing it to return to its ”memory” compressed state. This allows for superior strength, with an extremely small piece of metal.

With these advancements in techniques and technology, our patients are allowed to walk immediately following their surgery with total recovery time equal to half of what traditional procedures have allowed.
